What is Sharemethods?
ShareMethods provides a suite of apps that have been
built from the ground up to support document management
on-demand for marketing, sales, and external partners.
The company’s product platform combines document management,
collaboration, and CRM integration to easily manage
the distribution of marketing materials to sales, and
to send feedback from sales to marketing — all in an
inexpensive, easy to use package.
What products does Sharemethods provide?
ShareMethods provides the following products: (1) ShareMethods,
a sales and marketing document management and workflow
platform, delivered as a standalone on-demand service;
(2) ShareSpaces, collaboration portals for teams and
business partners; (3) ShareNow for AppExchange, a sales
and marketing document management and workflow platform,
integrated with salesforce.com; (4) ShareOffice for
AppExchange, a sales and marketing document creation
and management service, integrated with salesforce.com.
ShareOffice is an online office built upon open Internet
standards; and (5) shareDrive OnDemand enables advanced
features for desktop integration of documents on-demand
including drag and drop, in-place editing, batch upload/download,
offline synchronization, and local back-up to server.
Can I set up our own structure for company
documents or do I have to use the structure that already
ShareMethods comes with a configurable default structure
to manage company documents and best practices. This
structure is in place to help you get started quickly
and easily, however you can easily tailor the structure
based on how your organization goes to market. You can
change the structure through an easy-to-use administrative
interface where adding a new category or changing an
existing category takes only a second or two.
Can I use ShareMethods with salesforce.com?
Yes, you can set up web integration links in Accounts
and Opportunities in salesforce. com that will automatically
display relevant documents. You will also need to tag
your documents in ShareMethods with Account and Opportunity
information. With the “Single Sign On” (SSO) feature
you don’t have to log in to ShareMethods if you are
coming directly from salesforce.com. You also can set
up a custom tab that will take your users directly into
ShareMethods. Users can also email documents directly
to saleforce.com contacts from ShareMethods with automated
tracking and logging as activity history.
Can I use ShareMethods with Oracle CRM On Demand?
Yes, you can set up web links in Accounts and Opportunities
in Oracle that will automatically display relevant documents.
You will also need to tag your documents in ShareMethods
with Account and Opportunity information. With the “Single
Sign On” (SSO) feature you don’t have to log in to ShareMethods
if you are coming directly from Oracle CRM. You also
can set up a custom web tab that will take your users
directly into ShareMethods.
Can I control who sees which documents or control
access to documents?
Yes, you can determine
which groups of users will see a document or a group
of documents. For example, if you want one of your sales
partners to see only a specific set of documents, you
can set up a group for the sales partner and let that
group see only the set of documents you selected.
Can I brand the application with my corporate
logo and messaging?
Yes, you can display your corporate logo in the banner
area where it is visible
throughout the application, and you can place it in
a prominent place on the home page. You can also place
a message that is consistent with your corporate brand
or that explains how the application fits within the
organization. Colors throughout the application can be set to match your corporate color scheme. Different corporate branding images can
also be attached to each primary tabs of the user interface.
How secure is ShareMethods?
ShareMethods has seven levels of security. The service
is housed at a secure data center and is protected by
a firewall — transmission from the service to
your browser is encrypted with Secure Socket Layer (SSL).
We protect your system by requiring authentication (which
uses advanced session management), and your content
is protected from other clients by isolated client workspaces.
Also, within your system you have user rights management,
roles, and permissions to further secure content. ShareMethods
operates its on-demand services from a SAS 70 Type II
Data Center, providing the highest possible levels of
security, change management, and backups as well as
audited controls and processes.
How do I purchase ShareMethods?
Select the “Free Trial” link on the left
to request a trial. At any point in the 30-day trial
you can convert the trial into a subscription. When
you convert to a subscription, you provide contact information
and how many user seats you would like to purchase,
then enter your credit card information or arrange for
an invoicing schedule (monthly, quarterly, or annually).
Does sharemethods include support?
ShareMethods pricing includes unlimited support. While
this tool was designed to
maximize ease of use, if you need any assistance we
are always here to help you set up and use your system.
We will work with you to provide guidance on content
upload, taxonomy setup, user and group management, system
rollout, user adoption, etc.
What computer systems do I require to use sharemethods?
You do not need to download or install any software
to use ShareMethods. All you need is a PC with high speed
Internet access and a recent browser. We recommend that
you use Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher
or Firefox or Chrome.
